Born Rodney Basil Pryce on 12 June 1972 in Riverton City, Jamaica, Bounty Killer's dancehall roots began with his father who ran the Black Scorpio sound system. Bounty was soon performing on sounds like Stereo Two and Metromedia, and making his first recording at King Jammys studio for Uncle T in 1992 with 'Watch The Gun'.
The youth who used to ride his bicycle from Sea View up to King Jammy's studio was soon ruling the dancehall alongside Beenie Man amidst a rush of gun tunes! Sound systems near and far saved many a penny to get a Bounty pon dub plate! Having released three massive LPs for King Jammys, John John and Uncle T, Bounty Killer set up his own label and enjoyed further success with the Scare Dem Crew including Angel Doolas and Nitty Kutchie.
