Born Errol Osbourne, 1948 and raised in Jones Town, Jamaica. During the 1960s, as reggae music evolved from the local Jamaican dancehalls, the singer known as Johnny Osbourne became part of a musical fraternity that established the foundation upon which reggae music exists today. Releasing many a hit tune for such producers as Coxsone Dodd, Winston Riley and Prince Jammy, he gained the well deserved title of 'Godfather Of Dancehall'.
